Doubt stops us from taking action. It casts a shadow on the new project or new person. It stops people getting excited about the new technology you want them to use. While confidence powers you up, doubt kills confidence. It injects uncertainty. It’s the road-block to that next innovation to be inspired or the day-to-day culture you aspire to have. Doubt influences decisions and behavior. It’s one of the most debilitating emotions humans must grapple with.
Imagine how people would feel if they were confident they’d succeed? Confidence is a multiplier. Have you ever performed to your best when you lacked confidence?
When we know we can trust the people around us. When we have confidence in leadership. When we know the data we use is accurate. When information is transparent. When we know our work adds value. This all builds confidence.
Want to instill confidence? There are a few things you can do and one of them is to turn the lights on — improve your personal visibility. When you are visible you can see, hear, touch, and feel the needs of the people around you, and it makes others feel visible too — they feel seen. So how exactly do you do that?
